What’s Inside Pet Food?

We, pet lovers care very much about our furry companions. We go out and buy the best food for them. 

Some of us, who are more budget conscious, may buy a cheaper but what we thought would still be a good quality food for our pets.

Then there are others will go out of their way to prepare a special food for their four-legged companions.

Why not?

We buy these pet foods with the belief that the pet food companies have the well-being of pets health in mind and that it contains the highest quality ingredients for our dogs. Besides, there's no reason to think that things will be otherwise, right?

But this perception appears to have changed a lot recently due to many problems faced by dog owners whose pet suffered various complications after consuming these foods. And many of these problems have been highlighted in the media and forums all over the country.

We certainly didn’t expect it would actually cause health and other related problems or even the premature death of a number of pets.

What Do Dog Companies Put In Our K9 Food

Pet owners have given the impression that only healthy whole chickens, choice beef, fresh grains, and all the wholesome nutrition your pets will ever need are contained in that expensive food they are buying for their pets.

Unfortunately these are just the images pet food manufacturers projected in the media and what we have always believed.

But to the pet food manufacturers, it’s generally considered an extension of the human food. It’s a convenient way for slaughterhouse rejects, grains “unfit for human consumption,” and similar waste products to be turned into profits.

And this waste includes intestines, udders, heads, hooves, and possibly diseased and cancerous animal parts.

Investigation revealed that many dangerous ingredients - which have been banned from human consumption and have been proven to be cancerous - were found in commercial pet food.

Even the labeling of some pet food products has been found to be misleading. Many of these were labeled as having all natural ingredients but having a questionable contents instead.

It was also discovered that meats that came from the slaughter houses were immediately sprayed with preservatives long before the dog food companies even get their hands on it.

Dead animals killed by lethal injection, has also been found to be in some dog food, including decaying road kill. There is also evidence to suggest animal used in dog food have been thrown into the mixing machine with collars and tags still on them.

2)  Learn how to read pet food labels, really understand what it means and what is hidden.

3)  Purchase books available on pet nutrition and make your own food. Be sure that a veterinarian or a nutritionist has checked the recipes to ensure that they are balanced for long-term use.

4)  Consider seriously at home made food recipes as an option. It is actually good for your pets and can be kept in the freezer and given to your pets for longer periods.
